Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What makes this mineral salt deodorant different from regular antiperspirant?
- It kills microbes on your skin naturally so you don't smell bad.
- It doesn't clog your pores.
- It doesn't absorb through your skin and into your body.
- It's naturally-occurring so it doesn't have a ton of weird, hard to pronounce chemicals. In fact, it has just one, natural active ingredient.
- It doesn't stain your clothes, like at all.
- It's truly unscented so you can still use your favorite expensive designer fragrance!
Q: Is this something new?
Q: How do I know it's safe?
Q: What is the active ingredient?
Q: Wait, isn't alum short for aluminum?
A: Yes, but this one is a naturally-occurring mineral salt. Its natural makeup and solubility make it too big to absorb into the body. Its full name is potassium aluminum sulfate.
(Artificially lab-made ingredients used in OTHER deodorants/antiperspirants like aluminum chlorohydrate are designed to dissolve into smaller ions to block sweat glands and have other ingredients to actually increase blocking of sweat glands and absorb into the body.)
The natural potassium alum in OUR deodorant just sits on top of skin and kills microbes safely and effectively throughout the day.
Q: Any safety considerations?
Q: So, how does your deodorant work?
A: The natural active ingredient, potassium alum, in our deodorant sits on top of skin and kills microbes safely and effectively throughout the day. It does this in a few ways. It creates a thin layer microbes have a hard time getting through, it tightens skin and pores, it creates an environment more acidic than microbes need to thrive, and it dries out the microbes by drawing water out of their cells. It does all this while being gentle on your human skin without any buildup, oils, or stains on skin or clothing.
It's almost like an underarmor 🙂, except that name is already taken sadly 🙁.
